Active FX
This procedure can be used to effectively to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration, as well as other effects of aging and sun damage. The laser beam is applied in a fractional pattern to create columns of thermal damage on the skin to stimulate new collagen. Columns are spaced out so that the remaining tissue is spared, resulting in faster healing.
Patients experience warmth, similar to sunburn, after treatment. During this time, a gentle washing and moisturizing regimen is recommended. Skin will then flake off within two days. After four to seven days, make-up can typically be applied. Pinkness is often gone after about a week.ActiveFX delivers results after just a single treatment. Most effects of the treatment, such as the stimulation of new collagen and plumping of the skin occur right away. However, results will gradually continue to show improvement for up to six months after the procedure and can last for several years.
What are the benefits of ActiveFX?
- Causes immediate skin tightening
- Reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and softens deeper frown lines
- Noticeably improves skin tone and texture
- Stimulates new collagen formation and plumps the skin
- Restores the skin to a healthy youthful-looking state
The results of ActiveFX laser treatment are long-term and, with proper sun protection, can persist for many years. Most effects of treatment become visible right away, whereas others – such as new collagen formation, which leads to continued inner tightening – build up gradually and become more evident over time. Therefore, most people look even better 3-5 months after the procedure.
Adverse events with the Active FX are not common, and can be dealt with easily by most qualified physicians. Remember, and this is so very important, that this is an invasive procedure which should only be performed either by a very skilled practitioner or by someone working under the DIRECT supervision of a skilled practitioner.
DeepFX
DeepFX is a revolutionary ablative fractional laser technology for aged, sun-damaged or scarred skin. This low-downtime procedure uses fractional CO2 laser microbeams to precisely target the deep dermal layers of the skin. This stimulates a cascade of healing responses that leads to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation throughout the entire treatment area. And because only a fraction of the skin is actually touched by the laser, healing time can be limited to just a few days. How does DeepFX work?
The Deep FX is also part of the UltraPulse CO2 laser system – the most advanced ablative resurfacing tool on the market. As with the Active FX, computerized software and hardware adjustments have led to the formation of the Deep FX. The Deep FX “holes” are smaller and go deeper than the Active FX.DeepFX procedures involve treating only a fraction of the skin’s surface, leaving bridges of untouched skin to aid in the regeneration process. Each laser pulse removes a narrow column of tissue while simultaneously treating surrounding skin. This deep heating causes immediate collagen contraction and long-term collagen remodeling. The result is softening and smoothing of wrinkles and scars, and improved skin texture.Benefits of Deep FX
- Results in a single treatment in many cases
- Minimal downtime
- Improves scars, wrinkles and texture
- Deep dermal stimulation
- Dramatic results
As we age, changes deep in the dermis accumulate leading to visible signs that include fine lines, deep wrinkles, texture irregularities and scarring. To adequately treat these problems, treatments need to reach the deep layers of your skin and renew the collagen foundation. Previous deep full face ablative laser treatments produced great results but were limited in appeal due to lengthy recovery times. With the development of the fractional DeepFX treatments, Dr. Gold and his staff are able to treat the deep layers of your skin, but keep downtime to a minimum. Now, deep wrinkles, skin texture and scars are dramatically improved after just one treatment.
What is a DeepFX treatment like?
DeepFX is performed in a physician’s office and lasts for 30-60 minutes. Dr. Gold and his team will use an anesthetic cream prior to treatment to aid with comfort. As the microbeams are applied, you will feel a warm sensation at the treatment area. Immediately following the treatment, your skin will feel warm and will be similar in appearance to a deep sunburn. Over the next several days you will follow a gentle washing and moisturizing regimen, and avoid direct exposure to sunlight. As your skin heals, it will begin to flake and you will notice improvement in your wrinkles, fine lines and scars.
Adverse events to this procedure are the same as noted above the Active FX. Because this therapy goes deeper into the skin, the risks for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring can be higher – especially when performed by non-skilled users. Dr. Gold and his staff will work with you to assure that all of the potential adverse events are minimized and that you fully understand all of the procedures and post-therapy nuances that make The Laser and Rejuvenation Center stand above the rest in regard to fractional laser therapy.
TotalFX
TotalFX combines DeepFX™ and ActiveFX™ procedures for total solutions in one treatment, again with minimal downtime. Fractional treatments treat only a fraction of the skin, leaving bridges of untouched skin that aid in the healing process and reduce healing time enabling you to return to normal activities quicker.
How does it work?
The TotalFX procedure is applied in two steps. First, Dr. Gold and his staff will numb your skin with a topical anesthetic to aid in treatment comfort. The DeepFX laser is applied first followed by the ActiveFX. Your total treatment time will last approximately 60 minutes, though total time will vary depending on the area treated. During the procedure, you will feel a warm sensation as the laser is applied. Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm, and will appear as though you were sunburned. Dr. Gold and his staff will provide you with a skin care regimen to follow for the days following your treatment and as your skin heals, you will begin to notice an improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, tone and texture. You should expect to continue to see improvement for up to six months following the procedures.TotalFX results
- Reduces the appearance of wrinkles, scars and folds
- Improves pigmentation, skin tone and texture
- Stimulates new skin and collagen formation
The Total FX is the complete package. The Deep FX component can handle most every deep concern in the skin while the Active FX will take care of more superficial damage and provide a resurfacing effect to the entire skin surface. Downtime can last upwards of 5-7 days but can be minimized by using and following the specific skin care steps that will be outlined for you. Post-inflammatory pigmentation and scarring, although possible, can be minimized by adhering to the specific steps which will be individualized to your specific needs. Most patients will only need one Total FX treatment to achieve their desired results. Some acne scars, or other deeper scars, may need a second, or occasional additional treatment to achieve optimal results.
SCAAR FX
UltraPulse’s unique SCAAR FX mode enables treatment of a variety of severe skin lesions which require synergistic coagulation and ablation for advanced resurfacing.Reaching up to 4.0 mm into the dermis, the SCAAR FX mode can treat all depths of complex, deep lesions effectively.
Conspicuous, complex and deep skin lesions, such as surgical and acne scars, can be treated like never before with minimal side effects and more effective results. Treatment of these types of conspicuous scars has been shown to improve patients’ quality of life by improving structure and range of motion, as well as the appearance of the skin.UltraPulse is six times more powerful than other CO2 lasers. Using precision and higher energy impact (up to 150 mJ per spot), as well as shorter pulse durations, the precision of the UltraPulse CO2 laser beam allows up to 4.0 mm impact into skin tissue. This is four times deeper than any other CO2 laser. Due to these characteristics, SCAAR FX uses a unique ablation/coagulation ratio to substantially improve the structure of deep contracted lesions, such as surgical scars. This maximizes results, minimizes side effects and reduces treatment time. For more information on all applications of the UltraPulse, please contact The Laser and Rejuvenation Center.
