A somewhat new group of fractional lasers has become a reality – a concept known as Sublative Rejuvenation. In sublative rejuvenation, a fractional device which delivers bipolar fractionated radiofrequency has been introduced to treat lines and wrinkles, scars, and other texture concerns. Dr. Gold has been one of the early pioneers with the eMatrix.

Many of the patients at The Laser and Rejuvenation Center who have had this form of fractionated therapy are amazed at the ease of the treatments and the results obtained. Downtime with the procedure is not a major factor – from only a few hours of redness to 1-2 days in rare instances. Since the beginning work with the device, Dr. Gold and his staff have continued to work with newer software and hardware components to make the device one of the more popular new fractionated systems on the market.

What are the benefits of Sublative Rejuvenation?

How does the treatment work?

A high dose of radio frequency (RF) energy is delivered deep into the dermis layer of the skin, stimulating collagen growth with little disruption to the skin’s surface. The device uses bipolar fractional RF – the first of its kind in the world to utilize this form of energy in a fractional mode.

What is the treatment like?

On average, a full face procedure can typically be completed in 20 minutes or less. Topical anesthetics can be applied but are not typically needed since the radio frequency energy penetrates into the deepest layers of the skin causing little discomfort is to the outermost layers.

Are there any possible side effects?

Unlike other aggressive resurfacing treatments, Sublative Rejuvenation results in little to no downtime following the treatment. Some patients may experience mild redness and a slight burning sensation immediately following the procedure that usually disappears within an hour. This treatment is proven safe and effective on all skin types. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring, although possible with any energy based system, is extremely rare with this technology.

What improvements will I see?

Sublative Rejuvenation results in a high degree of patient satisfaction. Reduced appearance of wrinkles and scars are often visible after one treatment. Tighter feeling skin and a smoother appearance are often reported as well. While most will require several eMatrix treatments for optimal results, most do note significant changes even after one therapy.

How many treatments will I need?

On average, a series of three treatments are recommended for optimal results. Since all needs and skin conditions vary, Dr. Gold and his staff will recommend a treatment plan best suited for your skin care concerns during your consultation.
